When content will not display in Internet Explorer, but will display in other browsers.

Why?
Content was copied & pasted directly from a Microsoft product (MS Word, etc.).  The code in MS Word, when paired with IE Browser, will hide your text.

To Verify:
  • From your browser, view the source code.  

Firefox & Chrome: Ctrl + U

Internet Explorer: View menu > Source


  • Scroll through your source code – do you see any code in green?  It looks like this:



...and there may be a LOT of it.  This is junk code, courtesy of Microsoft.  It has to be removed or your content will not display correctly.  It’s also bad for SEO and important to remove for that aspect as well.


STEP ONE:
To clean this code, you need to
  • Go into your storeadmin and navigate to the offending page, category, product, etc.   
  • Copy the current text.




STEP TWO:
  • Click into the HTML view.


  • STEP 3:
    • Right Click he code > Select All > Click DELETE
    • Click CANCEL


    STEP 4:
    • Click the Word Conversion button



    STEP 5:
    • You will see a pop-up text area
    • Paste in the content from your clipboard (Ctrl + V)
    • Click INSERT
    • Save
