1. Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard.
2. Under the dashboard menu, hover your mouse over Posts and then click on "Categories".
Enter the following details in "Add New Category":
Name: Enter your category name such as "Computer".
Slug: Enter a slug name or leave this as it is. The slug is the URL path (permalink). In this case, we're using the slug "pc", so this means that your URL will be: example.com/pc
Parent: Leave this to None or should you select a category, it will become a sub-category of your selected category and the browser will show a URL like example.com/technology/pc
You can edit how your URL path is (having sub-categories or not, having the date displayed or not, etc.) in Settings > Permalinks. Save Permalinks twice each time you make a change there. But be aware of having to create redirects if you have your links displayed on your website or on third-party websites. This will change your URLs and shouldn't be taken lightly. Backup your website first.
Description: You can leave this as it is.
Now, click on the "Add New Category" button.
